Semien fox, Bale Mountains National Park, Ethiopia
I'm very happy with these awesome cards received from Ethiopia thanks to a friend who lives there.
Located 400km southeast of Addis Ababa, Bale Mountains National Park contains a spectacularly diverse landscape. The high altitude, afro-montane Sanetti Plateau rises to over 4,000m and includes the highest peak in the southern Ethiopia highlands. This undulating plateau is marked by numerous glacial lakes and swamps and surrounded by higher volcanic ridges and peaks. The southern slopes are covered by the lush and largely unexplored Harenna Forest. (sources)
Defassa Waterbuck, Awash National Park, Ethiopia
Awash National Park is one of the National Parks of Ethiopia. In the south of the park the Awash River gorge has amazing waterfalls. In the upper Kudu Valley at Filwoha are hot springs amid groves of palm trees.
Ivory and hair of giraffe tails adorn a young Anuak wife.
The Anuak are a Luo Nilotic ethnic group inhabiting parts of East Africa. Group members number between 300,000 to 350,000 people worldwide.
They have lived in the area of the Upper Nile for hundreds of years and consider their land to be their tribal land. Hundreds of thousands of Anuak people immigrated to the United States to escape the wars, where they live mostly in Minnesota, which had a refugee resettlement program.
Awash, Ethiopia
Awash is a market town in central Ethiopia.
Awash lies outside the Awash National Park, which is known for its wildlife, for the Mount Fentale caldera and for the Filwoha Hot Springs. Its market is held on Mondays, where Afar and Kereyu crafts can be found.
Omo Valley, Ethiopia
Omo Valley is undoubtedly one of the most unique places on earth because of the wide variety of people and animals that inhabit it. It is located in Africa's Great Rift Valley. The region is known for its culture and diversity. The tribes that live in the lower Omo Valley are believed to be among the most fascinating on the continent of Africa and around the world.
I just love them! :)
